I was at a class/meeting last Saturday that turned out to be very important! I wanted to learn how our clinic could become a patient centered medical...

Changes And More Changes
March 29, 2016
I wanted to blog every week but it is sometimes difficult! So today I wanted to let everyone know about the latest happenings going on at the clinic! We have just lost an employee to a new job in Gadsden, Jennifer Stephens, for which we are really sad! We are also going to see our newest CRNP go down to part time work! I want to let everyone know that we all work hard and the practitioners work very hard to make sure we take care of our patients properly! It is a huge responsibility! Judith and Kathy have been helping me see all patients who come in to help reduce my work load. Most people know that I have rheumatoid arthritis and that I have been working hard to control it for several years now. Most of the time it goes very well but there are occasions I have flairs. Working fewer hours per week has helped me continue to work a full time schedule with the help of Judith and Kathy. I am always available from 10am to 5pm daily, except Friday, to see all patients! Currently Judith and Kathy are alternating Friday's! This has been helpful to us all. I appreciate everyone's patience and support as I come in a little later each morning to overcome the morning stiffness! Many people have asked how I am doing and have been very thoughtful! I greatly appreciate this!
For the next couple of months we will be transitioning to a new electronic health record which promises to make our life and your life easier. I asked a fellow Doctor how he liked Athena, the one we will now have and he says it is so much better than the 8 previous systems he has used! We will work hard to make the change as easy as we can! Thanks for your support! I will try hard to write on our blog more often as we transition!
The next time I blog I am going to begin to explain some of the ins and outs of Medicaid and Medicare that may be helpful. If you know someone from our clinic who would benefit from our blogs please pass it on. Some folks don't have the internet so it may have to be by word of mouth! Thanks once again!
